So LunaticWard Churchill has been disowned by the Cherokee band he claimed descent from and now he's trying to make a few bucks from his 15 minutes of fame. I suggest we let this crap compost and don't give him any more attention.

It might be nice to review the public documents around his appointment to the Ethnic Studies dept and see if he misstated his ethnicity though. Grounds for dismissal

He claims to be one sixteenth Indian. Even if that were true, he wouldn't have to look like whatever an Indian is supposed to look like.

What's more important is that this alleged "one sixteenth" gives him full minority status, with all the governmental benefits and protections that minorities enjoy.

I agree - propaganda. I spent 6 years on a actual reservation - my father was doing what I guess would be classified as mission work. I grew up in Oklahoma, Kansas and Colorado. I've always had a fascination and respect for the American Indian. My x-husband, now deceased and father of my children was Blackfoot. This guy, Churchill, he does not represent anyone but his own sick ego.

I had a long discussion about Churchill with my daughter. She's going back to college - old enough and experienced enough not to be taken in by someone like Churchill, but I want her to be prepared to deal with instructors who have an agenda.

ago where a University came down on a Janitor because inside his "office" he had a small copy of the Bill of
Rights.And the University insisted he needed to take it down for it was University property and that image ofended

Actually, I think Ward "Cleaver" Churchill is an Indian. From the "F Troop" Tribe. For those of you old enough to remember the show, doesn't he look like those Italian and Jewish actors who spoke with Bronx accents who played the Indians? They were supposed to be parodies of Indians. I can't think of a greater parody to Native Americans today than Ward "Cleaver" Churchill, "Cleaver" being his tribal name, as in Ward Cleaver from "Leave It to Beaver", about the whitest man in history.
