They don't do those things to you for insulting their religion. They'll maybe just slander your reputation and make false IRS reports about you. If you want them to crash a plane into your house, try leaving the "church."

I once had a nodding acquaintance with a very prominent and highly-respected writer (now deceased) who knew Hubbard decades ago. This man, who was extremely thoughtful and cautious about his public statements, said that when he looked into Hubbard's eyes, he felt as if he were gazing into pure evil.

The LA Times did a great expose on Scientology and Dianetics back in 1989. In it the writers detailed many cases of the "church" exacting revenge against current and former members for perceived crimes. The stories were enough to scare the writers into using pseudonyms for their bylines and it made my skin crawl to think that they had that much power and the brazenness to use it in the ways described by former members.

These are very scary people who will do anything to protect the money power pole that is Scientology.
