For the Bush haters, if the President supports the bill, he is wrong for supporting a "national ID card". If he doesn't support the bill, they'll attack him because they think he isn't doing enough to "secure the border". (Actually it doesn't matter what the President does, they'll always attack him. They hate him as much as the Democrats do and wouldn't stop if he did every single thing they wanted.)

Perhaps it would be less confusing for you if you considered that your so called 'bush haters', though 'they' generally disagree with the president on the subject of immigration policy, 'they' are actually many different posters.

And different people have different perspectives & opinions.
