I see your point but our latest technology can produce
a national I.D. that is infinitely better than ANYTHING
we now have. We Americans need to remember that the 19
terrorist hijackers had SIXTY-THREE (63!) drivers'
licenses. Their VISAS expired BEFORE the licenses. This
sort of nonsense could easily be prevented. Another fraud
being perpetrated on our people is the "consular" card
issued to illegals by Mexico. A near-perfect, high-tech
national ID would stop this. We've seen the results of
the present I.D. document "system". It's been used by
illegals and terrorists to great advantage. The only
people who should fear a good, reliable system of national identification are those who want to be underground and
anonymous to conduct their nefarious activities.

a state can't use the latest technology?? There are parts of the federal government that haven't heard of Pentium yet.
