President Bush and Polish President Aleksander Kwasniewski (link to press conference) met for the fourth time in the Oval Office "to discuss international policy," Iraq, training Iraqis, Bush's upcoming trip to Europe, Ukraine, making it easier for Polish citizens to travel to America, etc.
Bush participated in a class-action lawsuit reform conversation, saying, "...A capitalist society depends on the capacity for people willing to take risk and to say there's a better future, and I want to take a risk toward that future. And I'm deeply concerned that too many lawsuits make it too difficult for people to do that."
Enjoy your visit to Sanity Island!

QUOTE: 1. Polish President Kwasniewski: "I would like also to say that as far as the thank-you words concerning Ukraine are concerned, everything wouldn't be possible without the participation of the United States. And without the United States' role, it wouldn't be possible to finish the crisis situation in Ukraine and strengthen democracy in that country. It is the success of Ukraine and the Ukrainian people, but it is also the success of all of us."
I hope this map shows up, helping give a visual as to why Poland is so interested in Ukraine's political struggle.
2. Bush: "I'm very pleased with the response that European leaders have given to Dr. Rice on this issue [Iran]. She has made -- her trip, by the way, has been a fantastic trip."
3. Bush: "... we will make requests [to Congress] that will enable there to be a mil-to-mil [military-to-military] expenditure to help Poland modernize and fulfill its mission of about $100 million this year."
With Polish President Aleksander Kwasniewski

LOVE this caption (and the photo) from Tuesday!
"U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice arrives at Paris Sciences Politiques Institute for addressing European intellectuals on U.S. foreign policy, Tuesday ... On her first foreign trip as President Bush's chief diplomat, Rice is displaying a sophisticated style right at home on the streets and salons of tastemaking capitals such as Rome and Paris."

In a television interview on Sunday, Vice President Dick Cheney, seen here 06 February 2005, called the budget 'the tightest budget that has been submitted since we got here' but argued that it is also fair.
My caption: "Okay, Chris [Wallace], we're talking here about the soaring height of the democrats' plan to save Social Security, the world, and everything in between."

God bless President Bush, Condi, and the rest of this amazing administration!
Yeah...my first first!
YAY! An early dose!!! I was hoping this would come early enough for me to see. Thanks!

Barney, on a July walk in the woods, considers the road not taken.
Having recently put himself in charge of the (July) West Wing exterior renovation project, Barney looks for a jackhammer.
With the hit movie "Dodgeball," responsible for a re-emergence of the sport, Barney practices his ineffective but patented "stand still and do nothing" move.
Barney and National Park Service employees discuss the record levels of funds being invested at America's national parks.
Sitting in the shade of the White House South Portico, Barney watches Marine One take off from the South Lawn Tuesday, July 13, 2004. ("Buh bye, Daddy!" Sigh.)
An aspiring songwriter, Barney sits in a pickup truck for inspiration while writing a new country western song.
Not yet available to the general public, Barney previews his new country western song to approving fans outside the East Wing of the White House.
That's it from me.
LOL!
Good evening.
Hi mombonn. It kind of boggles my mind to think that the good Lord began providing for "such a time as this" many decades ago when these senior administration officials were born and grew up to be responsible, well-educated, devoted Americans who were willing to go above and beyond the call of duty for their country. And that includes being slimed repeatedly by the liberals and the media. Oops. Oxymoron alert should have preceded that.
As always, thank you for posting the GREAT pics! I love Sec. of State Rice's suit! She's stylin'.
Do you think what they mean is "trendsetting"? "Tastemaking" doesn't survive the Atlantic voyage too well!
