Police Maj. Rudolf Gollia, spokesman for the Austrian Interior Ministry, said his ministry, in consultation with the foreign ministry, approved the sales in November. The only reason you're hearing about this is the reintroduction of the bill discussed here.

They're trying to tie in .50BMG rifles with terrorism.
