If you Texans would like to save a lot of local money we could trade you our senators (K&K) for yours. Phat Boy and Flopin managed to bilk the Feds for billios for a 3 mile hole in the ground. Imagine what they could do for you on a project this big!

Segment is about 5 1/2 minutes long. Basic questions with no new info as I see it.

Wait, what? Are we being sold back to Mexico or something? Why this project to intertwine our roads with Mexico's?

Ahhhh...doesn't Texas already have Interstate Highways (I-10, 20, 27, 35, 37, 40, 45)?

They were designed 50 years ago when the population of Texas was under 8 million. Texas has over 21 million now and is the second most populous state. By 2050 Texas will have 40-50 million. The existing roads are not adequate now much less adequate for the population we will have in the next few decades. I-35 is often bumper to bumper from south of Austin all the way to Hillsboroough.

Why this project to intertwine our roads with Mexico's?

Well supposedly there is some interest in connecting up to ports on Mexico's Pacific coast. Ports in California have more traffic than they can handle.

To facilitate international trade, especially after CAFTA passes.
