Jeff Gannon
A Voice of the New Media
The voice goes silent.
Because of the attention being paid to me I find it is no longer possible to effectively be a reporter for Talon News. In consideration of the welfare of me and my family I have decided to return to private life.
Thank you to all those who supported me.
Tap, tap, tap.
I'm waiting.
And in case you live in a cave and didn't hear how the MSM mis-reported a story yesterday, and still today as far as I can tell, let's use another example. So many to chose from.
Should ABC lose it's WH press credentials because they reported an American soldier was kidnapped in Iraq and Freepers discovered it was really a doll in oh, about 10 minutes?
Should CBS lose its credentials because they knowingly used forged memos in the National Guard matter?
tap, tap, tap
Did you listen to the SOTU?
That may be the "mistake" in question but how you came to believe that this "mistake" is why Jeff left is simply speculation on your part.
Please explain how this mistake has ANYTHING to do with the smears and attacks on Jeff Gannon which have been popping up. Don't you think perhaps this is a bit more than a bunch of journalists wringing their hands and pointing their fingers at a mistake?
And you STILL won't answer. Because you can't. You are SO transparent.
.
Thanks....Im a little behind on this story...I was barely on FR yesterday.
Definitely some type of rodent...
But you have no problem with the 40 million that Clinton spent, right?
Do not dub me shapka broham is gone? What did he say??
Apparently a lightweight who bailed out quickly.
Ideology aside, I think scrutiny of a reporter's background is not only legitimate, but a very necessary component of our political system.
"Know your source."
IMHO, this validates the suspicion that the dude was nothing but a mouthpiece for the administration -- a phony plant.
Of course, the Kool-Aid connoisseurs will vehemently disagree.
Look, the problem is that a guy with alleged ties to male prostitution was given unprecendented access to the White House, and given a White House press pass that didn't even have his real name on it, in order to throw fake softball questions at the press briefings to help make the president look good.
If this was Clinton and not Bush, then everyone would be up in arms. I don't want ANY president doing this. Whomever came up with the harebrained scheme to put a ringer in the WH press corps should be fired. And yes, there is a big difference between calling on sympathetic journalists and hiring your own shill.
I am making no such speculation, other than if you make such a mistake in fact checking, it can make you a target for other investigations.
You are deliberately missing the point: they LIED about what his duties were going to be.
this historically is simply a policy position not a strictly political one.. while the 2 are clearly related this is a shift in historical tone.
Newflash: things didn't work the way they were "historically."
There's a new sheriff in town, which is why you are here I suspect.
Who sent you, Sidney?
And check this out (CBS smears Free Republic) is the subtitle.

The MSM is going on the offensive.
Wow ...now I can read a story about a judge resigning and get my quota of porn all at the same time....Thats progress.
The more I read this thread, the more I'm struck by the focus on 'soup line', it's a red herring. I believe, Gannon was targeted because of this: Go here: Jeff Gannon responds to DU

[snip]
Gannon was #2 on the Top 10 Conservative Idiots list last week for referring to Hillary Clinton and Harry Reid as "people who seem to have divorced themselves from reality" while asking George W. Bush a question at a recent press conference.
Which makes the veracity to destroy him make a lot more sense. The post is short to get the full context...in a way, he called the DU out...
Ha... you're still alive?!
What? And who are you? Some part of a smear machine?
