... arguing that Mr. Rosen did not, in fact, have a motive, since underreporting the contributions would not have produced any financial benefit for Mrs. Clinton's campaign ...Could some kind of money laundering be involved?

The case offers a bizarre and tangled tale of how Mr. Paul, a smooth operator with myriad connections and a troubled past, got so close to America's first couple in a political culture dominated by money.
Seems like its the Clinton's who have the most trouble with these issues. I don't think it's the 'culture' (or maybe it is in the DNC...)

Has it occurred to the NY Slimes that the Klintoons are "for sale" (however the buyer will get, at best, a subpeona to appear before the grand jury), and that the Klintoons are the epitome of "myriad connections and a troubled past"?

This is a whitewash designed to minimize the Clinton role. We'd have to believe that the Clintons are much stupider than they have shown they are in order to believe they didn't know the score here.

Probably has, but they're hoping we're too naive to pick up on the obvious... when your campaign, your party, and indeed your very political existence are all testaments to the power of bribery, it's a bit disingenuous to claim innocence every time you get caught.

If BJ and the Hildabeast ever turned down money, from any source whatsoever, it was because they didn't understand what was being offered!

...and a fairly lengthy one at that. Maybe someone is worried.

Interesting how Slick and Hildabeast attract sleaze ... mostly because they are sleaze. Raising campaign monies from the dregs of society and very questionable foreign entities (Chicoms for instance) was all in a days work.

Yup! that makes an awful lot of sense! Here in August of 2000, klintoons two terms over, this jerk springs for a couple personal $ mils, on "good faith", while the FatAss crook is running for the Senate and trying to stiff anyone and everyone, (including an upstate waitress) to raise money for her!
Yeah, no f--in' problem here, jes move along!
