Michael......check out chuckhawks.com.....he always has alot of good info and most is free.....just go to http://www.chuckhawks.com/index2.guns.htm......alot of good info.....I own a 357 and 9mm...I don't carry so the 357 is 6 inch bbl and the 9mm would be too heavy.....357 is Ruger gp100 and 9mm is Ruger P series. I like the reliability of a revolver but that short bbl is gonna have some blast and flash....Glocks are just so ugly........lol.....I love my rugers and I know they have some light 27 ounces I think in their 9mm and they have all 3 versions........DA only, manual safery and decockers........check out the Ruger site

Hubs has a .357 and a 9mm. They are both too big for me. (I wear I size 4 1/2 ring.) .380 is perfect for me. I have a second magazine, too.

ooh, gun porn! OK, ammo, can't go wrong at all with Speer Gold Dot ammo. It doesn't matter the caliber, they are by far one ofthe best; excellent penetration and expansion. Feed extremely well, too.

Caliber? Personally, I like the 40 S&W or 45. Either are great and both can come in tame loads with still enough power for personal defence. For 40 S&W, a 155gr Gold Dot. For the 45, the 180gr Gold Dot.

Gun? I like a smaller Kimber 1911 Ultra Carry for concealed carry. It weighs enough so the kick is reasonable but it is still small enough to conceal very well.

Hard to beat a S&W Airweight. Bodyguard or hammerless. Semis are great but you need a higher skill level. Depends on how good she is and how often she shoots. If some miscreant tries to do her harm, she wants something that goes Bang! every time she pulls the trigger. You can never go wrong with a good revolver.

Get her any S&W if you want to support a company that was willing to flush your 2nd amendment rights down the toilet. If your wife weighs 200 lbs get her a large caliber pistol. If she's petite, get her a Beretta 70S. It's a 22 cal automatic that's extremely accurate, and light. Tell her to practice head shots.

I really like the subcompact Glocks; very easy to conceal, and easy to shoot. If she's experienced with firearms (and can keep her finger off the trigger until ready to roll) the lack of an external safety isn't a problem. I have an H&K, and originally got into Glocks to have cheaper weapons to fool around with, but found I liked the Glocks better.

The nine is nice; the 27 (.40 S&W) has a bit more punch, but with the short grip it's a little harder to be accurate with.

But that chromed minigun is awfully sweet. She'd need a big purse, however...
