That's bull. I quess you'd have a quarter-back with a compound leg fracture -- the fractured bone sticking out of his ripped through uniform leg -- continue to play. No matter how strong -- a person just can't operate any more at some level of sickness or injury.
If you can't operate, take yourself out -- for your team-mates' sake.
