All time favorite, can watch it a million times, is The Fifth Element. C'mon, Mobius was involved - and that Mila...rowwwwrrrrrr.
Another all time fave, is the director's cut of Bladerunner.
Men In Black, love them both.
A big fave of mine is very obscure, called "Dark Star", filmed in 1974 by the then fresh-out-of-film-school John Carpenter. It's a comedy, and it's funny. The horrible FX help make it even funnier - the beach ball alien is classic! (and supposedly the inspiration for "Alien)
The Alien movies are insanely good, the first the best, Resurrection the next best, then 2, then 3.
Silent Running with Bruce Dern has to be on the list.
I enjoyed Solaris, but I catch a lot of flack for admitting that.
I also liked Event Horizon, but it may be too much of a horror flick for most.
Heavy Metal the Movie - the sequal is horrible tho, what a disapointment for such a long wait.
Of course all the big ones, Star Wars, Star Trek, Stormship Troopers, Independence Day, ect...
I came late to the party with Red Dwarf, it's a must if you enjoyed The Hitchiker's Guide To The Galaxy, and Dr. Who.
UFO and Space 1999, of course - the Eagle remains my favorite spaceship.
Thunderbirds were great.
I wish someone with skill and talent would take on Bradbury, and do some of the R is For Rocket and The Martian Chronicles stories - they've been stealing from him forever, just make the movies!
