Why do we have to follow the Middle Eastern custom of calling Mahmoud Abbas: Abu Mazen (Mazen's Father)? It just seems silly.

Why wouldn't you refer to him in the manner he's referred to where he lives?

Invite them out to the ranch and drive 'em around in the pickup truck, showing off the place before having some good brisket.

I never would have imagined that the guy who funded the Munich Olympics massacre would ever be invited to the WH.

Perhaps he prefers it ? I don't know the reason. It's not a big issue. I do know however that it is polite to call people by the name they prefer to be known as.

This is the year 2005 remember. Time is linear. We are going somewhere. The unfolding of the universe's true potential is a forward process. Time is not cyclical.

No, more like Maimonides or Aryeh Kaplan. The belief that time is linear is a basic tenet of Judaism.

The "ranch" is probably bigger than Abu's whole country.

Texas-Style Beef Brisket
Although this recipe requires a covered grill and lots of time, it is worth the effort.

Prep: 10 minutes
Cook: 6 hours
Servings: Serves 10
6-8 lbs. boneless beef brisket
3/4 cup onion, finely chopped
2 tsp. paprika
1/2 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
1/2 cup water
2 cups prepared steak sauce
1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
2 Tbsp. butter
1 cup catsup
1 Tbsp. brown sugar
1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper

Trim fat from brisket to 1/4-inch.
Combine 3/4-cup onion, paprika and black pepper. Rub mixture evenly over surface of brisket.
Place brisket, fat side up, in large disposable pan. Add ½-cup water. Cover pan tightly with aluminum foil. Place in center of grid over very low coals. (Single layer of coals with space in between each.)
Close cover on grill and cook 5 hours, turning brisket over every 1-1/2 hours. With a baster, remove fat as it accumulates in pan. Add additional 1/2-cup water to pan, as needed. Add briquets as needed to keep coals at a very low temperature.
Remove foil from pan. Remove brisket and place on grid directly over very low coals.
Remove and reserve 1-cup of the pan drippings. Mix remaining pan drippings with 1-cup of the prepared steak sauce. Brush mixture over brisket. Close grill cover and continue cooking 1 hour, brushing occasionally with sauce.
Meanwhile, cook ½-cup finely chopped onion in the butter until tender. Stir in remaining 1-cup steak sauce, reserved pan drippings, catsup, brown sugar and crushed red pepper. Simmer 10 minutes. Serve with the brisket.

The Beef Brisket is a very course textured muscle. The heavy layer of fat and the sternum or breast bone have been removed. Due to the course texture of this muscle, cooking in liquid is recommended. It can be purchased whole, Point Half or Flat Half.
Beef Brisket Point Half Boneless

Beef brisket point half boneless is the brisket (breast) section between the foreshank and plate. It contains of layers of fat and lean meat, but no bones. Often cured in salt brine to make corned beef brisket.

Beef Brisket Flat Half Boneless

Beef brisket flat half boneless comes from the brisket (breast) section and is cut from the rear portion of lean meat and fat closest to the plate layers. The breast and rib bones are removed. Often cured in salt brine to make corned beef brisket.

I am a terrible cook. If I was to try and open a restaurant I would be arrested and sent to Devils Island by the International Chef Police for grievous bodily harm to the cooking world. I should learn how to cook. I'll have to ask my girlfriend if we can attempt this recipe together. She is much more talented than me.

Yea now is the time for peace just like in 1938.

Go ahead and ignore history, Ignore the fact Abbas founded Fatah in 1965, and that he helped plan the munich attacks.

He has changed now he wears a suit and has a new plan to destory Israel.

The is no pessimism but REALISM.

Abbas is a terrorist and there is no cease fire because Jews in Gaza and outside Gaza are facing mortar attacks still.
