Licensing insanity
The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review ^ | Monday, February 7, 2005 | editorial

Each day it's estimated that thousands of drivers get behind the wheel without licenses because they have no license to be in the United States legally.

But rather than arrest and jail and send the offenders whence they came, the liberal solution is to give them all driver's licenses -- and, with that, instant legitimacy.

It's the same legitimacy chosen by the 9/11 hijackers, who used driver's licenses and state IDs to blend in.

And what is the significance of U.S. citizenship?
And what is the significance of our borders?
And what is the significance of our laws?

Why do WE have to worry about obeying the law and respecting our borders, when foreigners do not???

DOUBLE STANDARD ANYONE???

And I am positive that all these illegal aliens will feel the need to obey the law that requires all drivers to be insured.

By this kind of liberal logic, instead of punishing murderers we should form a data base that enables the powers that be, to match up people craving to kill, with those suicidal folks craving to die-problem solved.

Makes too much sense. The author better watch out or someone who dropped the baggage off her last name (and next step, out of her life????) tells him to "shove it!"

Per el Presidente Vicente Fox: "There is no such thing as an illegal alien. Our people who go north to seek work are migrants, not illegals. They have done nothing wrong."

Why don't they have Mexican Driver's Licenses??

This is the part that really puzzles me. Some California legislators want to give licenses to people who don't have them in their own country. When I go to Mexico, I don't need a Mexican license. Why should they need an American one?

why can't they just use their Mexican licenses? Perfectly legal here in the US.

Hell...half the native born U.S. citizens shouldn't even be driving. Been out on the road lately??? What I don't understand is that liberals are pushing these initiatives. Aren't the same group trying to get the rest of us into carpools and public transportation to help the environment????

P.S. Correct me if I'm wrong, but did someone lower the car insurance and registration rates for them? Where do illegals scraping together an existence in this country get the money to pay for the responsibilities of driving here? Wait a second, I get it now--next ballot initiative will be taxpayer-funded insurance for them.

Well if it is now a right then they need to really redo the DL laws.
