As you may have noticed our Super Bowl ad only appeared during the scheduled first quarter spot. It was scheduled to run also in the second ad position during the final two minute warning. Our ad never ran a second time. Instead, in its place, we saw an advertisement promoting "The Simpsons."
The NFL persuaded FOX to pull our ad. We immediately contacted Fox to find out what happened. Here's what we were told: After our first ad was aired, the NFL became upset and they, together with Fox, decided to pull the ad from running a second time. Because we purchased two spots, we were also entitled to a "Brought to you by GoDaddy.com" 5 second marquis spot. They also chose to pull the marquis spot.
Our ad is finishing high in opinion polls. So far in early opinion polls, our ad seems to be finishing fairly high. In fact, in checking the one on the Fox site, it is in the number two position. Not bad for an ad that could only be aired once.
Stay tuned for more news as it develops. I'm sure you'll be hearing more about this over the next few days. I believe that it's the first time ever a decision was made to pull an ad after it had already been run once during the same broadcast.
If you haven't seen our Super Bowl ad, or want to see it again, there's a link provided in the previous Blog entry "Pre-Super Bowl coverage" that will take you to it.

It also looked like it was filmed with a cheap 8mm video camera by an adolescent who had enjoyed a few too many Mt. Dews and Pixie sticks.
This is starting to get stupid are we so dumb we cannot operate the channel selector or the off-on switch? I am sooo tired of special intrest groups trying to impose their so called values on the rest of america.
i thought it was vapid.
but then again there was one ad that I saw that doesnt' seem to appear on any lists. the one with the guy sitting down and his dog asks him to take him for a walk. the dog tells the guy "if it's 'about the leash, (some car maker) has a 199 leash on a new (Whatever it is)". does anybody else remember this ad?
Not that there's anything wrong with that.
This is really too bad. The ad was okay, not great, but okay and with a decent sense of humor. People are far far too uptight these days. There was a dumb ass bimbo that showed her tit last year. Okay, bad, very bad. Identify her as a dumb ass and shame shun scorn and ridicule her forever. And ever. Then, laugh at her some more.
Now, it's 2005 and we can't even laugh at a fully clad chick with big hooters teasing Senators. Sheesh.
Personally, the most offensive wardrobe item was McCartney's commie t-shirt. Jackson's boob was by far less offensive in the whole scheme of things.
I don't remember this one.
hahaha-- there are special interest groups, and there are special interest groups. I just got a good old fashion chuckle from the CareerBuilder monkey ads... like the one where one monkey is kissing butt... and the one where they pull the woopie cushion prank on the guy... lol. Reminds me of Office Space.
I remember it now. It was stupid and lame.
what was McCarney's t-shirt?
McCartney's commie t-shirt?
I thought it was a tribute to the red state voters.
The ad wouldn't be nearly as funny if we hadn't had the infamous "wardrobe malfunction" at the Super Bowl last year. This ad pokes fun at that, and at the Senate for its interest in the matter.
Plus, it's a good use of silicone.
It pretty effectively mocked the blowhards, hypocrits, and dinosaurs that populate that august chamber.
Plus, the woman had alluring sloppy floppies that she managed to keep caged for the duration of the spot.
It was one of the stupider ones.
I agree with you about the Cialis ad. Personally, I am sick of those erectile dysfunction ads. Yeah, didn't see much of the cheerleaders.
Now, the Tabasco bikini babe ad was, IMO, quite well done. I liked it a lot more than Go.Daddy. That one was just plain stupid, and poorly produced.
Wouldn't mind watching that with your 10 year old son sitting next to you? Do you even have children?
I liked it. The entire world does not have to be childproofed.
