Seeing our troops get the welcome that they deserve is bittersweet for me. I feel very happy for them. However, it does bring back a lot of memories for me.

It brings me to tears when I think of the lives wasted on our return. The battle scars were bad enough. The reception on our return pushed a lot of us over the abyss.

That I place squarely on John Kerry, Jane Fonda, the rest of the leftists, and anti-war movement (and of course, their bed-time buddies the MSM). I do forgive them. I will never forget. I will take that to my grave.

I deliberately wear my Vietnam Veteran ball cap now most of the time. I live in a liberal enclave in a liberal state. I will not let them forget either.

Every once in a while, another Nam Vet will come up to me and say "Where were you?". Of course, not many around here saw much service other than in the back of a VW bus smoking weed and discussing politics.
