I'm sure that Howell Raines and most of the other lower-level editors at the New York Times also fancied themselves sharp and sophisticated as well, but they sure weren't sharp enough to avoid getting duped and humiliated by a kid with a chip on his shoulder and a drug problem. Even intelligent people are very capable of self-delusion and not seeing what they don't want to see; they're very human characteristics.
I agree, but please tell me how that relates to Bradlee and the Watergate cabal at the W.P. On the basis of what I know of Bradlee, he was very willing to go the extra mile to do Nixon it. He was in no way duped. Bradlee is a liberal horse's ass and a journalistic disgrace (if I may be permitted an oxymoron).
Right!? I heard on Fox news this morning that the identity of "Deep Throat" would be revealed upon his death. They said the person was ill, and we would find out soon.
Whoever it is, I would want more confirmation than Dean's word. (I think I channelled that from Pres. Nixon.) Dean's a weasily little looking rat. (Yeah, definitely channelling).
"The ambitious Alexander 'I'm in charge here' Haig."
Absolutely.

Lmao.....caught me off guard with that one!
I would say MSM = dying.
Deep Throat was a fiction of MSM imagination at the time.......
Elvis.
Oh, good God, Nixon has been dead for how many years?! Woodward and Dean are lower than bottom feeders. President Bush's numbers are up, and the democrats got nothing left than to try and dig up "Deep Throat" and rehash this old scandal. Personally, I am more interested in who and why Kennedy was shot, and who really killed Oswald? Dean and Woodward are has-beens, and they should just hang it up already.
