Why is it that we have hundreds of "sola scriptura" denominations that each have very different interpretations of what scripture says? Isn't that the definition of a "living Constitution"? Every denomination has set itself up as the final arbiter of what God was saying.

Just a thought.

Absolutely. Just like there are very different catholic sects, the orthodox church, etc.

That what happens when men abandon the authority of God's word, and come up with their own creeds to advance their own desires and agendas. Some blame it on "contiunuing revelation," some blame it on "differing interpretation."

The root attitude and irreverance are the same.

A little more on sola scriptura and Akins' well-known arguments against it. I haven't read Salmon's book yet, but I think I will.
