Not to deny your impression, but there are very many women out there who need someone to talk to them like her, like their own mothers. My stepmother was one of them -- basically a simpleton, couldn't make up her mind about common sense matters: "My husband came home grumpy today. He's been grumpy all month. Should I divorce him?" So many women have such addle-brained nonsense in their heads that they need Dr Laura.
There are other precious ones:
"My 15-year old daughter has been dating a guy for a year. She admitted they have been having sex. Should I let him spend the weekend at our house in her bedroom?"
"My 16-year old son doesn't want to attend church with us anymore. He wants to go with the youth group on Sunday evening. Should we let him?"
Don't listen to her if you must, but don't forget to recognize that lots of folks need her advice and she's doing them a favor.
well said.
