I am stating that from a literal perspective, Genesis is in error. There still is no conflict between the basic concepts between the two. There is no explicit denial of one from the other. It is in the interpetation that the conflict, for some, exists. Evolution describes populations of living things changing over time. No reference to supernatural interference. The Bible simply acknowledges a higher power but does not deny the operation of physical principles.

Yes there is. Birds were created before land animals. The Sun was created on Day 4 after the plants. Woman created from man. The basic building blocks of evolution are at odds with this.
God uses the term morning and evening with reference to each day. How can this "figuratively" translate.
How can God creating the Sun on the 4th day "figuratively" translate.
If the ordering of events isnt to be taken literally or in that order then how do they "figuratively" translate.
