While I can't comment for all homeschoolers, besides the excellent customized education our children get, we want to keep them innocent as long as possible. Some of the folks that now homeschool started too late and their kids are already jaded, but their parents are finally doing what they think is in the best interest of their kids. And when we think our children are ready, we'll educate them about the more mature issues in life. And one thing they won't hear at our school is this: "how do you know you don't like homosexual sex if you've never tried it." I do applaud your efforts as homeschoolers and towards your children. You must be good parents. That being said, my parents did exactly the same things you described WHILE sending their children to those same public schools (inner-city at that)as did my granparents and aunts and uncles, cousins, second cousins, brothers and sisters, etc. They actually thought their sons and daughters could be good examples to others (as many Christian students are in my hometown). We learned about the more mature issues later when the time was right too (such as that s-- is a meant to be a beautiful expression of love between a man and wife only). how do you know you don't like homosexual sex if you've never tried it.Any teacher that would ever ask this would probably (or at least should be) fired. I don't know of any schools in the two states I know about that would ever say this. I know that I would never even think of saying it to my students (and no I'm not you know what--the very idea repulses me).

I'm not of the opinion that kids can make good examples for the other kids. When they're old enough, sure. Before that, and with what's going on in the schools today, no way, I won't subject my kids to that.
