At one time, schools imparted academic knowledge. Frankly, I think public schools have lost their way in that regard.
What do you think the purpose of school is today?

Based on my experience, having spoken to many teachers, and what I read, it's still to educate.
Don't know about where you live but my kids took reading, writing, math, science, history, several times over.........you know, the usual.

The purpose of most private schools is to educate. The purpose of most government schools is to indoctrinate, make people thralls to government, and make the bulk of the students so uninformed and uneducated that they have little recourse other than to depend on government and do what they are told. Another purpose is to be a financial drain and to basically bankrupt the private sector.
I truly believe this, and so I say, if you value education, liberty, our country, or your pocketbooks, you must oppose government schools.
