Emboldened ETA?
There seems to be some amount of confusion....
the NZZ is now saying that the hostage situation may NOT be resolved - the Local Police have provided a conflicting report.
"The Press Speaker of the Canton Police Bern, Jürg Mosimann, said in cintradiction at 11.55 "To the best of our knowledge, the hostage situation has not yet ended." It is not clear whether or not the hostage takers are still in the building, said Mosimann."
Speaking as someone who lives in a city where terrorists were able to immolate over 2,000 helpless people, I don't think these tactics are going to have their intended effect, especially since they are so insipid, in comparison to the brutal actions committed by their radical Islamic counterparts.
This hostage-taking is about as impressive as the latest coup de'etat in the Comoro Islands, i.e., not impressive in the least.
