Don't be so certain. If all the domestic program cuts (education, environment, housing, head start) that have been leaked are truly part of the new budget then the Dems will have been handed all their most powerful arguments on a platter. A heavy-weight Guns for Butter fight is coming and nobody can predict the winner.
BUSH ping!
Such negativism so early in the morning!

Please tell me exactly what is negative about my post. Have you seen the advance numbers and the deep cuts in domestic programs? If you haven't then please do. Stating the obvious, that the dems are going to have a political field day with Bush's budget, is not negative, it is accurate.
Perhaps I should avoid truth so early in the morning....ok, this is for you Polyanna...
The hapless dems will totally ignore the significant cuts in all the programs that effect their core constituency and not use any of them to their advantage in the crucial mid-second-term election. They will not scream that American kids are being short-changed so that we can fight in Iraq. They will just shut up about taking money from low-income housing here to build FOBs in the Iraqi desert. They'll just laugh at the deep cuts in EPA programs that keep the evil Rebublican Corporations from raping America's beauty. Go back to bed dear...everything will be ok.
And nobody try to twist this to Bush bashing or that I agree with any of the positions the left will take on this. The budget will be the issue. Not because I say so but because it gives the loud mouths on the left all their pet 60s issues an a platter.
When Michael Barone speaks, I listen.
