It is a valid means of political discourse in Minnesota ---- if you're a Democrat (reference to destroyed yard signs, road rage, cars vandalized, a front deck of a residence torched in Richfield, and so on.).
I had the same thought.
In the Old West horse thieving was a hanging offense, because you were stealing a man's means of feeding himself.
This guy had made my "kick the bejeez out of him on sight" list.
