"If you ask an American Citizen his or her Country of Citizenship, 90% will answer with a city or state. It only gets worst from there. " That's no different than all the FReepers who are unable to distinguish between being a resident of a state, and a citizen of the United States.
They are unable to even grasp the concept of a person qualifying for certain rights and privileges based on residency as opposed to citizenship.
Pathetic isn't it.

Well, at least we had one part of DHS doing their jobs.

Why do you oppose the idea of local police busting employers?Uhh, you do realize that unless there're State or local laws involved, there's a Tenth Amendment issue with local police enforcing Federal laws?
It was established in a case where a New Mexico or Arizona sheriff sued the Federal government over the Brady Act's background check provision... Back in 1993 or 1994 I think.

Any excuse to blame Bush. The White House (Gonzales) already isssued the opinion that locals could enforce immigration laws. The CBP already set up training programs.

The primary mission of CBP is anti-terrorism, not keeping laborers out.

Can you tell the difference between a laborer and a terrorist?

The White House (Gonzales) already isssued the opinion that locals could enforce immigration laws. The CBP already set up training programs.Well, apparently as long as it's voluntary and not mandated by the Federal government, it passes that precedent's test.
It will be interesting to see if there's a challenge to a local officer's arrest of a violator of a Federal law.

Even still, It's nice to see a part of DHS still doing their jobs.

Based on results, DHS has done a perfect job of protecting us from terrorists.
