In 1999, after he published an article in a federal medical journal questioning the department's drug policies, he was, at one point, reassigned from the pharmacy to a locked psychiatric ward and given no duties.

Abuses that were typical of the Soviets were embraced during Clinton's era. The Chicoms probably would have executed him. Who would be surprised? Here are some heroes and a villain. I can't say what I would like to do with the POS.

Jayne Steubing said her husband, Carl, was wrongly told he was healthy enough for an experimental cancer treatment.

Mr. Steubing, a World War II veteran, became violently ill after treatments at the veterans hospital in Albany. He died in 2002.

FReepmail me if you want on or off my health and science ping list. This is a scandalous short story, not a regular article.

Everybody in the press hyperventilated over putting a few panties on the heads of murderers and thugs while they were naked, but how many of these same "the truth must come out" pressies are around, making this horrible story of abuse to our Veterans known? Yeah, right. Previous few.

It bugs me no end that they determine what gets coverage and how much coverage it gets, and then stories like these are buried below the fold on page 47.

There are our heroes, the men who kept America and the world free from the horrible marching oppression of Hitler and Stalin, and then they are used a guinea pigs by a man posing POSING as a Doctor.

If this had happened to anyone in my family, I'd wring that guy's turkey neck, watching his bulging head turn red and then blue. I'd happily squeeze the life out of him, I feel that violent and repulsed over what happened to these veterans of WWI and WWII.

Somehow their just desserts being meted out after death and their burning in hell isn't enough. I want them incarcerated, right next to Bubba and Buster, and know that they are serving sentences where their lives are worth nothing and are treated as such. They deserve no less.

Gosh, and this is a person trying to finish getting dressed to go to Church. I've even surprised myself at what I've writen, but I have to tell you - this entire story caused the most amazing amount of bile to rise up within me and I became very very angry.

I've gotta go and re-adjust my head and heart. May justice prevail.

Didn't the army give soldiers LSD without their knowledge to see what would happen to them?

I once read that those who served in desert storm face a greater chance of getting ALS.

Most of the factories making and storing the WMD's were blown up during the Persian Gulf War which poisoned the air, food and water around them. Chemicals were everywhere.

But then again there are articles like this one so who really knows.

Do you know what the "federal medical journal" cited in the article is or how to get in contact with Anthony Mariano? I'm interested in seeing what he published in 1999.

Thanks.

I worked at VA hospitals, research is being phased out in favor of grants to the NIH.
