"$30.00 in 1938 translates into $365.00 in todays money."

Tickets for fights here in Vegas are a lot more than that, mostly celebs.
Son a cop and was in the ring right after Tyson bit off Holyfields ear, eweeeeee.

Much like when Fay Wray died last year.

(I can't bring myself to write "when Fay Wray passed away.")

Good morning.

My understanding is that the Fallschirmjager, like paratroopers everywhere, were all volunteer until late in the war. I don't know if it is true but I have read that Shmeling was injured in Operation Merkur, the invasion of Crete.

Hitler was so shaken by the casualties suffered by the airborne forces on Crete that there were no more large scale German drops.

Shmeling is lucky to have survived the war.

..He was sent to the Russian Front, early in the war. ..So much for "being" a Hitler's Fav.

I got that from Sports Illustrated and they are perhaps not the best source for military facts that there is. However, I am fairly certain that Shmeling was drafted after turning 30. Later in the war that would not be remarkable, but before 1942 or so, it is and points to him being singled out by the Nazis for his previous associations.

Good morning.

SI may not be the best source for military facts but, according to a Google search, their facts seem to be correct in this case.
