To be honest it would be best not to get into it.
If Britain had not held out for so long or decided to join up in alliance with the Nazis the world would be a lot different.

There might not be a Russia or an America left to talk about.

I think the old Soviet Union/US Cold War kept the world in check for a long time. As long as Russia was the big menace, a balance was sort of there. The Europeans didn't diss us so much, knowing big ole bad commies could come in anytime and crush them. The problem is that Islam is a pretty big enemy, it is hard to encapsulate the threat when it is everywhere. And Europe lives in the middle of them, all over every street.

I guess I am longing for the Cold War,,am I nuts or what? As long as we had big bombs pointed at each other the threat was clear, we all go kaput. This kind of threat which is around the corner, having the support of our very people at times, embedded in the political wars in our country in the strangest way. When was the enemy ever something we really disagreed about?

I am rambling. I think the break up of the Soviet Union is the reason for all of this. We weren't always the only top dog, now we are and all the mutts of the world are running amok. Thank God for GWB.
