Just a sec here. Was that 3700 total for the whole state, or just for King County? I've only followed this story lightly - and now I'm getting confused.

Anyone know anything about this judge? Given that the Democrats were arguing it should be tried in a different county - why did Rossi pick this particular county? Why not King County, where most of the problems occurred?

This appears to be a big scandal - I'm trying to get some fairly basic information. Thanks for any help,

Drew Garrett

Drew, check out this blog article for details on the 3700: http://www.soundpolitics.com/archives/003680.html#003680

Regarding the judge, he is widely considered to be very fair and has presided over an election contest case (or two). The Republicans filed in Eastern Washington for precisely the reason that they know the judges in King, Pierce and Snohomish counties are liberal 'Rats. Dems tried to argue this morning that it should have been filed in King, Pierce or Snohomish or another Western Washington county, but the judge DISMISSED that motion!

3700 is to King County, see www.soundpolitics.com for details.

Chelan county chosen because King County Court is democrat controlled. Also Judge Bridges has tried cases of voter fraud and irregularities before and he has set aside elections at commissioner level before with decisions that were thorough and that held up in the State Supreme court.

The state GOP has stated that Chelan was chosen because at least the evidence would be heard, no guarantee of such in King County.
