On the Iraqi election

As even the French and Germans saluted the courage of the Iraqi people who chose liberty under threat of death, one would think that the astonishing success of Iraq's elections would have muted, at least temporarily, the voices of the Democrat defeatists in Congress such as Ted Kennedy. But to admit the Iraqi elections were a stunning success would mean
George Bush was right and they were wrong.
Like the sea of orange flags that welcomed true democracy to the Ukraine, a sea of proudly extended purple fingers in Iraq welcomed true democracy to the Middle East, an appropriate gesture to those such as Abu Musab al-Zarqawi who find themselves on the wrong side of history. In "George Bush's Vietnam" this morning an elected Iraqi National Assembly is setting about the business of writing a constitution and forming a government.
Kennedy and his ilk complain about long lines at polling places in Ohio, the lack of voting machines in certain areas, and other alleged examples of voter intimidation in a U.S. election in which a 60 percent turnout is considered "historic." But how many Americans would walk miles to stand in lines knowing their polling place might be a terrorist target and that voting might be the last thing they ever do?
Instead of demanding we withdraw the troops that made this election possible, I would suggest the senator reread his brother's inaugural address, the one where JFK said this nation would pay any price, bear any burden, support any friend, oppose any foe in order to ensure the success and survival of liberty. The Iraqi people showed on Sunday that they were willing to pay the ultimate price.
As John Stuart Mill wrote, apropos of the Civil War: "War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks nothing worth a war, is worse . . . ".

It really is no wonder that bloat-boy's visage was not on display at the State of the Union Address. It is also no wonder that Ms. Pelosi stumbled on the word "occupiers" in the Dem rebuttal. Even these idiots are getting an inkling that America is turning against their anti-Americanism.
My liberal friend, when I asked her if she saw the SOTU hug between the Iraqi and the soldier's mother said "I thought it was divisive" and then complained that two such vulnerable people were put next to each other and next to Laura...and that Karl Rove is a genius. I couldn't believe it!!!! It will take a long time before so many liberals figure this out...if ever.
I'll go slightly spatial here.Is it not apparent Ms P or ted blowhole may be replaced at any time by those more worthy and do they not exist.These items are but treading water nowadays. The water they make to float them is more the concern for they have polluted entire river for a few years more.They like all are history.The finer man or woman acknowledges error and makes amends.They are already gone and don't know it.
Here he must be referring to the two Senators from Massachusetts. Gosh, One is uglier than the other! Red Nosed, Bloat Face with his jowls eventually wins out!

I'm sure that you are right. One of the best features of our political system is that it is self-correcting. The combined wisdom of the general populace has, so far, kept us from a plunge over the precipice of ultra-extremism.
Cats see unseen.Cats know a cancerous tumor sometimes.Cats know where to kneed.Cats also would be exterminated if they didn't know a litterbox.The cat mind is a walnut surrounded by lead.Then there is democrats who have the eyes to see ability to hear what we do and twist it up.If ever an example can be made of those who will sell out their integrity or Nation for a few years more of pampered carcass,it the modern demorat politico.

That is exactly what I thought: HUH????? I guess she thinks that we have all been manipulated by Karl Rove. But how blind do you have to be to think that hug was divisive but the democrats are not????
I reluctantly agree with Savage on a point about the loss of another political balance.As the dems went over the edge we did lose a leg of our balance in politics and direction.They've engendered a stew of angry violent disgrace to no purpose and left nothing but heel-dragging expose to the world of the worst pampered humanity offers.This doesn't bode well for the future.There should be a two-party system.The great guys and gals we have now are but a page in history and those more extreme or of less integrity could be replacing them and no consideration given to that whining,leftist, stupid demorat party.That's kind of sad but not now.
The word is "desperate" They're going out with a bang.
I don't believe they think what they are doing is right,good or anything but a game.It's like playing the stock market.In overview one might see that for every winner,many losers but they only focus on the winner.The winner in this case is of some importance,puts their behinds on the best limo and jet seats and offers fight to whatever action expended by others.It's a parasitic relationship they are comfortable with.They've not a concept of before or after only that the butt is warm.

I'm doing great, thanks for asking. Morale has been high among the troops and the Iraqis, a lot of that due to recent historical events. (You know....the kind that make the liberals' lives miserable. HAHA)
I've seen a lot of inkstained fingers coupled with big smiles the last couple of days. :-)
