I don't condone the threat, but I think she is a fool if this is a surprise to her. I expect it is merely an attempt to tar all who oppose her as dangerous right-wing nutjobs rather than a genuine reaction of from our appointed Governor.
She is the political version of the person who insists on going to a bad part of town alone after dark and proceeds to flash a lot of cash while getting knee walking drunk. It would certainly be illegal, wrong and immoral for something bad to happen, but anyone with an ounce of common sense wouldn't be surprised if the stupid sot got rolled.
The left in Washington state has come to think of the population outside of Seattle as yokels who need to be told what is good for them, even if they don't want to hear it. Property rights are under serious assault. Boondogle transit systems and sports subsidies are shoved down the throats of the taxpayer even if they are voted down. This election is simply a reflection of that attitude. King County decided they knew better than the rest of us, and simply waited to see how many votes they needed to come up with and provided them.
It is has been only a matter of time before some folks here got really angry, and when you give people the impression that the remedy of the ballot has become a shell game, some hotheads are going to go overboard.
The lefties haven't even pretended to be abashed or ashamed by the this boldfaced election swindle: One of the first reactions from our wonderful reps in Olympia was to say that this sham election pointed out how the right of the people to the initiative needed to be stopped, as the great unwashed of Washington can't be trusted to get the shaft again and again without trying to do something about it at the ballot box without the legislature acting as censor.
I am sure they are deeply concerned that the people might demand that the darn state constitution ought to be enforced when it comes to voting, and then what would happen to all the felons, illegals and dearly departed who wanted to vote despite those pesky rules that prohibit them from voting once or twice every election?
For Gregoire to whine that she is the target of hard feelings and talk radio is laughable. It is merely the sound of a con artist complaining that the mark is a poor sport for being angry about being ripped off yet again.
Condone the threat? Not one little bit. Understand the feelings behind it? You bet I do. That understanding doesn't excuse it, make it any less wrong or justify it, but honestly, what in the Sam Hill did she expect? Roses?
Huzzah Huzzah! Well said. Sadly, some people still won't get it. The fog of logic is too clear for some. :)
