President Bushs State of the Union presented a positive agenda for keeping America safe and preserving Social Security, but the Democrats have defined themselves as the party of no in responding with obstruction and pessimism. President Bush realizes the challenges facing our country require bipartisan solutions, not political attacks.

Meet The Party Of No
[A]s The President Spoke In The House Chamber, Several Democrats Hissed And Rumbled No, No, No During Some Of His Assertions About Social Security. (Charles Babington and Mike Allen, Bushs Address Wins Over Few, If Any, Democrats, The Washington Post, 2/3/05)
Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) Said President Should Forget About Strengthening Social Security Because It Will Not Happen. (Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV), Press Conference, 2/1/05)
Washington Post Article Suggested Senate Democrats Could Filibuster Social Security Plan. Because Senate rules require 60 votes in the 100-member chamber to overcome delaying tactics, Democrats appear positioned to block Bushs partial privatization efforts unless he makes concessions that attract moderate Democrats from states that the president carried last fall. (Charles Babington and Mike Allen, Democrats Claim Votes To Halt Social Security Plan, The Washington Post, 2/2/05)
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) Said Democrats Are United Against Presidents Social Security Plan. (David Espo, Democrats: Social Security A Distraction, The Associated Press, 2/1/05)
Sen. Byron Dorgan (D-ND): Weve Got To Fight On This Issue, And Weve Got To Wage An Aggressive Fight. (Sheryl Gay Stolberg, For Democrats, Social Security Becomes A Defining Test, The New York Times, 1/30/05)
Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY): We Will Not Allow The President To Play Retirement Roulette And Turn Social Security Into Social Insecurity. (Richard Simon and Maura Reynolds, Democrats Give A No To Privatization, Los Angeles Times, 2/3/05)
Rep. John D. Dingell Of Michigan Said That Bushs Social Security Proposal Reminded Him Of That New Coke From The 1980s -- The Name On The Can Was The Same, But Nobody Could Stomach What Was Inside. (Richard Simon and Maura Reynolds, Democrats Give A No To Privatization, Los Angeles Times, 2/3/05)
Wouldn't it be neat to see a commercial ala the Capital One "No" commercials with David Spade?
I would sell them all for a buck, and consider it a bargain.
Brilliant statement Pelosi. The loser Dems are united against anything this administration does. Did something change???????
Retirement Roulette
Social Insecurity
The new RAT buzz phrases. I don't think these phrases will be successful in the way they want them too.
"Retirement Roulette" may work temporarily but the GOP will be able to counter it by Sunday i'd say.
But "Social Insecurity" won't work, because it's a double negative (very RAT-like). American's are sick of the word "social" and naturally "insecurity" is just a turnoff word.
They need a Capital One Card
How about a nice contrast with FDR's "New Deal" visions to the 'Rats' present obstructionist "No Deal" nonvisionary agenda?(credit to Michael Medved)...
Snow 'way Jose.
Dont ya think its insulting that the Democrats will not allow you access to the same social security opportunities afforded to them and all federal employees??
They are petrified that there will actually be a lock box on the money and they cant get their clammy claws onto your money!! They think you are not smart enough to plan your own future and control your own money. We ARE NOT SHEEP Teddy, Nancy, and John..........
The title should read: "DEMOCRATS: THE PARTY OF NOTHING".
"Who's in your wallet?"
"This is no crisis, just another tricky day for the Rats."
The Democrat plan for Social Security:
"Hissssssssssssss...."
Medved said today:
Democrats use to be the party of the New Deal, now they are the party of the No Deal
They ran the place for 40 years and have failed. What else can they do? Pretty sad actually.
