It turned out that it was melanoma under his toe nail. People kept telling him to get it looked at and he would just reply, "Do you want it to be cancer?" and ignore it. Then, when it had spread and chemo was ineffective and he died, people came up with conspiracy theories that the CIA must have developed a cancer which could have been used as a poison which took root on his foot.
People denied that he could have melanoma because he was black, but ignored the fact that his father was a white Englishman. So, melanoma occuring under the toe-nail of a biracial person in the sun of Jamaica for over thirty years without sunblock might not be unusual, and not caused by all his pot smoking. Just a thought.
I recently visited my doctor and showed him a darkening under a toenail. He looked at it and decided it was just some blood, but he hid tell me that cancer developing under a toenail, while not common, does happen.
Further, he said that it is extemely rare among caucasions.
Someone should alert Jesse and Al about this racist form of cancer!
