I used to like Bob Marley. I spent some time in Jamaica and after being submerged in reggae 24 hours a day, I lost my appetite. Poor, Bob. He don't have no home to rest his bones.
Because he used/smoked drugs?
How did you lose your appetite with all that ganja, mon?
Jah Love
I say: Pass the Dutchie on the left hand side
Pass the Dutchie on the left hand side
It a gonna burn, give me music make me jump and prance
It a go done, give me the music make me rock in the dance
It was a cool and lovely breezy afternoon
(How does it feel when you've got no food ?)
You could feel it 'cause it was the month of June
(How does it feel when you've got no food ?)
So I left my gate and went out for a walk
(How does it feel when you've got no food ?)
As I pass the dreadlocks' camp I heard them say
(How does it feel when you've got no food ?)
Pass the Dutchie on the left hand side
Pass the Dutchie on the left hand side
It a gonna burn, give me music make me jump and prance
It a go done, give me the music make me rock in the dance
So I stopped to find out what was going on.
(How does it feel when you've got no food ?)
'Cause the spirit of Jah, you know he leads you on
(How does it feel when you've got no food ?)
There was a ring of dreads and a session was there in swing
(How does it feel when you've got no food ?)
You could feel the chill as I seen and heard them say
(How does it feel when you've got no food ?)
Pass the Dutchie on the left hand side
Pass the Dutchie on the left hand side
It a gonna burn, give me music make me jump and prance
It a go done, give me the music make me rock in the dance
'Cause me say listen to the drummer, me say listen to the bass
Give me little music make me wind up me waist
Me say listen to the drummer, me say listen to the bass
Give me little music make me wind up me waist, I say
Pass the Dutchie on the left hand side
Pass the Dutchie on the left hand side
It a gonna burn, give me music make me jump and prance
It a go done, give me the music make me rock in the dance
You play it on the radio, a so me say, we a go hear it on the stereo
A so me know you a go play it on the disco
A so me say we a go hear it on the stereo
Pass the Dutchie on the left hand side
Pass the Dutchie on the left hand side
It a gonna burn, give me music make me jump and prance
It a go done, give me the music make me rock in the dance
I say east, say west, say north and south (on the left hand side)
This is gonna make us jump and shout (on the left hand side)
The darkside of WEED.
The darkside of WEED.
An oldie but goodie.
The thing about Marley's music is that it never, ever fails to make me smile - even on the worst days I can put on his Greatest Hits CD and it makes me feel better.
I don't think Bob Marley's cancer had anything to do with his smoking weed.
NPR yesterday had a long segment on Bob...I wished they just played his songs. Instead they talked.
I was always wondering what chord is played over and over again in Reggae. Sounds like it might be a 7th!
Of course it didn't...
Now do you really know, or are you just speculating?
I'm speculating to a point. But when someone like Bob Marley who smoked a ton of weed and dies from Cancer at 36, I tend to put two and two together.
I thought he committed suicide from excessive boredom after hearing the same chord being played in the same time signature over and over and over...
Now that you determined the cause of cancer, why not tell us the cure, oh great one. In the interim, I will let my mother, who is dying of cancer, that there is a Freeper who knows all and that the cure if forthcoming.
