Chris Matthews asked if the hug during the State of the Union, between an Iraqi woman who voted on Sunday and the mother of a Marine who was killed in Iraq, was engineered by President Bush in order "to push his numbers on Social Security reform, just to get his general appeal up a bit, a couple of points?" Matthews proceeded to suggest that Bush's "PR guys around the White House did this to promote the President's agenda"
No Chrissy that trick you refer to of using cheap symbolism is right out of the RAT handbook. We're Republicans and believe it or not we really do care about something other than being re-elected and fooling the public
I suspect that Chrissy was playing an SOTU drinking game and took a swig every time President Bush said "freedom."
Sometimes I think they should just give "Hardball" to John Meacham. Better a logical liberal leaner than Chrissy's drunken pendulum-swinging.
MSNBC sinking deeper, and deeper into utter irrelevance.
Jeanne Garafalo...Ron Reagan Junior...Pat Buchanan...Keith Olberman...Chris Matthews...These people shouldn't make the B-team as political commentators. And they wonder why their ratings stink!
Bush's job approval rating is at 53 percent.

Wednesday February 02, 2005--Fifty-three percent (53%) of American adults approve of the way George W. Bush is performing his role as President. Forty-seven percent (47%) disapprove. These numbers are the President's best of 2005 and reflect a four-point bounce from the weekend elections in Iraq.
