The MIG29 has no legs (Range).

Has a piece of crap radar.

It's got poor avionics and is not easy to use for the pilot.

It's airframe and engine life is poor. Mechanically it's built robust yet is unreliable. Weird but true. If you look at the hours an airframe and engine can take you’re better off with an F16. Look at how bad the Yugoslavs had it with their MIGs. Many couldn’t fly because of mechanical issues. Even if they flew they often witnessed major problems with radars or other components. This also leads into the next issue. While cheap they cost a lot in the long run. Two engines with low hour lives and and and.

The MIG29 is over rated.
