Just read your post to my husband. He states the .480 Ruger is even worse that the .454 Casull (similar to the contrast between a .38 special vs. a .357 magnum).

Anybody remember the Century Arms 45-70? I was damn near as heavy as a rifle, and the recoil was brutal. It's still around under another name.
Magnum Research BFR is available in many calibers including 45/70.

I have to ask, why?
What purpose doe's this serve? It makes big noises and big holes, that's all the putrpose it needs.
What purpose does a six pounder muzzle loading cannon serve?
It's just a blast.

Damn. I guess I'll just have to dream about shooting it if it has that much of a recoil. At least I have my 12 Ga.

That looks like a great gun. Unfortunately, you only get to shoot it once because you will be blinded by the muzzle flash from the 1.75" barrel.

I've shot a .454 Casull in Ruger, and it's the only gun ever to split my grip when I fired it. I've got a Ruger 454; use a batting glove and it works perfectly.

Have they worked up any 395gr or 405gr loads for this ? I wonder if it can break 1600fps with those two.
