PROGRAM -- (Senate - February 01, 2005)

Mr. BROWNBACK. Mr. President, tomorrow the Senate will resume consideration of the nomination of Alberto Gonzales to be Attorney General. A number of colleagues spoke on this nomination today, and we expect a full day of debate tomorrow as well. Under the agreement, we will alternate debate in 1-hour blocks throughout the day. Again, I encourage those Members who wish to speak on the Gonzales nomination to contact the chairman and ranking member of the Judiciary Committee as soon as possible.

ORDERS FOR WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 2, 2005 -- (Senate - February 01, 2005) Mr. BROWNBACK. Mr. President, I ask unanimous consent that when the Senate completes its business today, it adjourn until 9:15 a.m. on Wednesday, February 2. I further ask that following the prayer and pledge, the morning hour be deemed expired, the Journal of proceedings be approved to date, the time for the two leaders be reserved, and at 9:30 a.m. the Senate proceed to executive session and resume consideration of the nomination of Alberto Gonzales to be Attorney General, as provided under the previous order; provided that at 2:30 p.m. Senator Byrd be recognized for up to 1 hour.

So instead of sitting on the floor, Gonzalez gets to sit in the gallery with Laura and the other VIP guests. LMAO

This type of insanity only helps bring more people to our side.

Who in their right mind wants to be associated with such negativity.

Freepers in these 'red' states need to inform their Senators that if Tommy Boy lost they can lose.

Ben Nelson - Nebraska
Mark Dayton - Minnesota
Robert C. Byrd - West Virginia
Kent Conrad - North Dakota
Jeff Bingaman - New Mexico
Bill Nelson - Florida
Herb Kohl - can't remember his state

and I think the new Senate minority leader Harry Reid from Nevada is up for re-election in 2006.

and it appears the Alberto Gonzalez who is a member, is a Democrat from Calfornia.

Ummm .. the Alberto Gonzalez that is up for AG is from Texas .. NOT Calf.

Sounds like someone screwed up

Yep they did..... Someone and I can't remember was blasting stuff about him being a board member from CA at LA RAZA ..

It is correct there is an Alberto Gonzalez from CA on the CA LA RAZA Lawyers association executive group.... But note the spelling of the last name...... z not s

Alberto Gonzalez
Eastern District Vice-President
Sacramento, CA (Includes 3rd and 5th DCA)
Alberto.Gonzalez@doj.ca.gov

He also works in the CA DOJ .....

Now in all fairness Judge Gonzales did sit on the Board of the Association for the Advancement of Mexican Americans (AAMA) in Houston at one point when he was working in Houston. AAMA is a member of the LA RAZA group but membership isn't that hard to get.... apply, pay the money..

Here's my wish for tonight: That Bush would step up to the microphone and say something like: "well, before I begin my speech, I thought since the senators are all here that they get some unfinished business done. Therefore, VP Cheney, call the quorum and take the vote on our Attorney General nominee now please and let the American Public see for themselves how their senator votes on critical issues!"

I know, I know, it's way too much dreaming for 4 pm in the afternoon!

Fax them plain white sheets of paper :0)

You'd have to draw eyes on the sheets of paper, then fax them :)

You'd probably be better off leaving that one out in the future. :-)
