To Leftists, the concepts of "free speech" and "diversity" only apply to other Leftists.

He said the Adopt a Sniper program was clearly provocative and ran contrary to Catholic values.Hiding his Liberal bent behind his Catholic religion... John Kerry?

He concluded by saying, If Marquette is serious about its Catholic values, perhaps they can start by ending the scandal of granting University honors to pro-abortion, pro-gay marriage politicians and dissident theologians who directly perpetuate heresies to our student body. Good at pointing out the hypocrisy of the administration.

Don't you think "Adopt a Sniper" Is a little over the top.
What's wrong with just Adopt a service member.

I totally agree with this, but c'mon. Adopt a "sniper"? Who's the genius?

and ran contrary to Catholic values. Religion of convenience, or convenience of religion?
Kinda over the top the University admin wailing about "Catholic values".

One of the proudest moments of my life was graduation day from MU...the day before, I had taken the oath as a 2nd LT from their ROTC program. 18 years later, it appears I wouldn't recognize the place, nor be welcome if I did.
BTW, we use snipers all the time over here, with devastating results. The bad guys fear them as much as anything.
GO WARRIORS!

We often have a negative connotation around the term "sniper", because nut-case snipers are so insidious in civilian life, but the truth is many good American vets are walking this earth thanks to disciplined, professional U.S. military snipers. And there is nothing "over the top" about that!

18 years later, it appears I wouldn't recognize the place, nor be welcome if I did. You wonder what goes thru their heads when they change a great university for the worse in the name of progress.
1986, eh? I had just gotten to Ft Polk. My jeep's vehicle number was A-66. Oh the fun I had changing the numbers around on that thing :-)
Stay safe!

There's an organization called Adopt-a-Sniper. I've been to their web page. As weird as the concept sounds....apparently the men (and women) who are snipers in the military have needs beyond that of the "regular" military.
They take donations for these snipers, things that they need day to day. It's NOT a spoof (from what I could see), nor is it comical.
I wish I had the site bookmarked...maybe Google it??

BTW, we use snipers all the time over here, with devastating results. There was a great picture of a sniper at work in Fallujah posted here awhile back. Some of us mommy types got all worried because he wasn't wearing his helmet. We had to laugh at ourselves. God bless them all and you too and thank you for your service. BTW, I'm a UW grad.

> Help us in our effort by contacting Marquette University
I hope you've also contacted Rush, Hannity, Drudge and the other members of the "new media". One hopes, by its action, the university administration made a lot more people, all across the country, aware of "Adopt a Sniper", as opposed to the few who would have, had the fund raising been confined to campus.
This is the first I've heard about Adopt a Sniper, they will be receiving a nice donation, along with my most sincere thanks for their service to our country.
May I also suggest a way to spread the word of this and other worthy causes. You can get sheets of business cards cheap at places like Sam's Club. Print the URL and leave them in places where they can be seen and taken by those who are interested.
