They likely do. It seems the writer would like us to believe that it doesn't have a lot of American support.

Yeah. I had to read that first couple of lines twice.

Fewer than 3 in 10 Americans say immigration is an "extremely important" issue for Congress and the president to deal with over the next year, while an additional 38% say it is "very important."

Someones setting an agenda here and trying to minimize the fact that 65% of the American people polled feel that this is a VERY IMPORTANT issue!!!

These are weasel words, for sure.
