CORONA, Calif. - The Rev. Jesse Jackson is using his diplomatic skills to help a Corona woman whose ex-husband was kidnapped in Baghdad three months ago and recently appeared in a video pleading for his life at gunpoint.
Susan Hallums, 52, turned to Jackson after calling on politicians and President Bush to help free her ex-husband, 56-year-old Roy Hallums, who was kidnapped at his company office along with another man on Nov. 1 in Baghdad.
"I feel so drained and this has given me more strength again to have more hope and faith," Susan Hallums said.
Jackson, who has successfully secured the release of hostages on several occasions since the 1980s, said he was confident that the captors would cooperate.
"We hope that the captors will pick up on the spirit of what has happened the last few days in Iraq and not use Roy as a trophy," Jackson said, referring to the Iraq elections held Sunday. "While our government can't negotiate, someone who can ought to."
Uh, who authorized you to do this Jesse?? Whats-the-matter Jesse, running out of money?? Need the work??
In a case like this I hope he succeeds. Then again, he could experience the "Beirut Effect" and become a hostage himself.
Go easy on Jesse man! He be embarrassed after meeting with the parents of that soldier being held hostage, he had to do all the talking since G.I. Joe (the father) and Barbie (the mother) were so choked up that they couldn't even say anything!!!

He's probably just using this an excuse to go over there and plans on challeging the Iraqi election. I heard they had some long lines. Wait.....oh, yes, because so many people came out and voted!
I'd like to see Jesse Jackson help get back that Toy Soldier that is being threatened by the "insurgents". After all, the toy is of the same ethnicity as Jesse: No heart, No brains, No sense.

The key words here are "on several occasions since the 1980s." The name of the game has changed drastically since that time. You will notice that the cowardly brother doesn't volunteer to go rescue him. I wish he would. Maybe they'd smite him above the shoulders, as called for in the Koran. LOL
