Nobody will forget them, except the far-left scum liberal Demo-rats that see the miltary as a nasty thing that should not exist. Those of us that cherish freedom, know the price of freedom and our appreciation of those that sacrifice to keep it in place. The tragedy and travesty is that this sacrifce and its many costs, also go to support the treasonous maggots of the left, the very detractors that slime these same heros of our country.

The left will die. It is just a matter of time.

Unless one of the soldiers is a friend, relative, or acquantance, it's almost impossible to remember them for very long. We remember the idea of them as a large group every once in a while. But unless there's a personal connection, we don't remember the individuals.

The only way someone can really get to know them is to go out of their way to reach out to inviduals - maybe by volunteering at VA hospitals, becoming a physical therapist or psychotherapist, or through any other various volunteer groups. The simple reality is that not many, not even the biggest flag waving patiots, are going to do that.

It's easy to remember people at parades and to support the passage of bills to provide them more financial aid. But those injured veterans have to live with their pain every single second and they have to come to grips with it by themselves. Who will comfort them when they have to go to bed alone, staring at the ceiling in the dark, feeling terrible loneliness and pain? Some will be lucky enough to get married, but many won't. They will suffer alone, and they will eventually die alone. You have your own life to live, your own affairs to attend to, your own triumphs and tragedies. How can parents be expected to go help out veterans when they're worried about their kids, paying off the mortgage of their house, maintaining their own health, and trying to get by in a career? It's a cliche to think that society will remember. But they never do.
