"The new House rules let Richardson (state Rep. Glenn Richardson, R-Dallas, the new speaker of the Georgia House of Representatives) appoint legislative 'hawks' who can swoop in to any committee with the authority to vote the way the Speaker wants them to." The Republicans further insulted the intelligence of our citizens by using a cheap psychological trick and trying to link, or frame, this issue in the public's mind with an event of much lesser significance. I love this quote, "We all agree rules were stacked in past decades to favor the majority. Favor is the key word. Republicans are the majority now, therefore majority rules would obviously favor them."
Translation: Why are they doing this to us??!!
What are the committees anyway when the committees are responsible for holding up legislation that the people so clearly want?
If the Democrats want to be obstructionists to the will of the people, they will learn exactly what the terrorists have learned in Iraq. The will of the people will be done, regardless.
As an environmentalist wacko, I strongly object to using an innocent hawk for a symbol of a politician.
