Senate has just started debate on Gonzales nomination for AG..Spector is leading off..he's just awful..not sure if he's speaking for or against the nomination..Debate is supposed to end today, with a vote also today...
I am bidding on antique china on e-bay, have a pot of chili in the crock pot, and am doing laundry!
Also, I am doing my nails.
No danger of a charisma overdose, for sure. LOL!
I thought last years (Daschle & Pelosi) was funny.
Okay, now I'm shopping......LOL.
It'll be hard to tell whether we're watching the Reid response of a SNL skit.
of = or (Listening to Kennedy grill Gonzales is distracting.)
What is it with the dems?
Do they think that by electing a colorless, soft spoken, practically invisible guy like Daschle and now Reid, that we won't notice they are uttering inanities and ruthlessly obstructing all the President's agenda?
Before the session started..the annoucner said there was consensus that debate would end today,
That's a valid point..except that most of the Dem senators who have spoken, and said they would vote against Gonzales, have all said they expected him to be confirmed..I guess we're trying to fathom the Dem mindset..and since it's far too early fro me to start drinking..
Couldn't the President put him in the gallery next to the First Lady and introduce him?
just back from the dentist - can I have a quick re-cap? Please?
Sure... but then it's not the same as being seated with the other cabinet memebers as one of them..... Remember Condi... they delayed long enough to take the spotlight away. They may not chose to do it here but I'd not put it beyond them.
He could certainly put him up there near her.
I did hear on MSNBC a clip from Mrs. Bush on the Today Show this morning and she was talking about how she and the President were so moved to watch coverage of the Iraq election on Sunday and the voters waving their purple fingers to show they had voted. Then the reporterette said Mrs. Bush had also stated during this interview that she will be flanked during the SOTU by a voter from Afghanistan and a voter from Iraq, so I guess we know who will be on either side of her (and how marvelous!).
I'm not watching, just shopping (you'd have to read the thread...LOL) and reading others' comments.
Perhaps he was playing water boarding with Mary Jo and got distracted and left her in the water.
It's as if he doesn't quite understand why he ought not to be complaining about terrorists being given the water torture given his own history.
except that most of the Dem senators who have spoken, and said they would vote against Gonzales, have all said they expected him to be confirmed..
It takes real stamina to listen to Kennedy. I'm not sure that I have enough. He is so despicable.
I suggested the Senator get his act together and get tough to put an end to this circus.
I'd love to see Teddy ramble on. Teddy is sending the Democratic party over the edge of the Chappaqua River bridge.
