The guys selling more units today, and who have sold more units than anyone for the past 3 years at least(Microsoft), are the ones that are set to take over the installed base as well.
Unix has the installed base but their share is falling every month (just look at Sun).
Its not going to take much longer before Microsoft is # 1 in installed base as well.
Even more reason.for you to become even more bitter. :)
