Some of the other denominations are doing more for Terri than the Catholic Church and I think this is a big shame. It sounds like it is the Bishop of Florida, who is the stumbling block. I did not know this until today.

Ditto. And that stumbling block would be Bishop Lynch of The St. Petersburg (Terri's) Diocese. The following is still on their website from when Terri was being dehydrated, and denied Holy Communion:

October 21st, 2003

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Contacts:

Mary Jo Murphy, 727-344-1611 ext 368

STATEMENT OF THE DIOCESE OF ST. PETERSBURG CONCERNING THE SPIRITUAL WELFARE OF TERRI SCHIAVO

Bishop Robert Lynch and the Catholic Diocese of St. Petersburg are grateful for the outpouring of love and compassion expressed to us for Terri Schiavo. (Oh, to be sure!) We share the agony (I'm certain it hurts Bishop Lynch much more than it does Terri!) being felt all over the world on Terri’s behalf.

Terri’s spiritual well being continues to be of paramount importance to Bishop Lynch (Yeah, right.) and all those serving within the Diocese. The spiritual ministry to any person is a private matter (And how!). The Diocese has been involved in helping to provide for Terri’s spiritual needs (Uh huh.). We assure all persons who care for Terri that the spiritual needs of her Catholic faith are being met (Oh, but OF COURSE!) . We ask that such private ministry be respected (Oh, we MUST! And we must respect the privacy of Jody Centonze and Michael Schiavo [aka "the HINO"] and their engagement, and that Bishop Lynch will probably consecrate their marriage as soon as Terri will only cooperate and DIE already! Then will come the time of healing, yada yada.)

We all pray that the Lord will abundantly bless and protect Terri Schiavo (From what? Death??? With her tube pulled??? Are you KIDDING ME???) and her family in their time of need (for a REAL Catholic Bishop).

Disclaimer: I am a Catholic who is sick and tired of liberal clergy.

thanks for posting that from 10/21/20003:
"Bishop Robert Lynch and the Catholic Diocese of St. Petersburg are grateful for the outpouring of love and compassion expressed to us for Terri Schiavo. . . .Terri’s spiritual well being continues to be of paramount importance to Bishop Lynch...We all pray that the Lord will abundantly bless and protect Terri Schiavo and her family in their time of need..."

amdgmary: do we have any different or additional word from him or from the diocese of St. Petersburg this time around, or just more of the lame, er, same?
