I happened to speak a couple of nights ago with a very active liberal woman at a going-away party we were giving for someone else. You really have to wonder at these people. Like many of our liberal friends she really seems to be a decent person in most ways, but she was just totally out of touch with reality. For instance, she couldn't conceive of the idea that it was hillary, and not the conservatives, who undermined Howard Dean.

Underneath all the rest of it, it's a mystery to me how so many seemingly nice, kind, decent, intelligent neighbors, who are nice and friendly and have nice kids, can support abortion across the board, to the point where they won't even allow parental consent laws to be considered.

I suppose it was like that in ancient Phoenicia, where some people were good and some bad, but all agreed to sacrificing their first-born children to Moloch, because that was the done thing.

Howard Dean was Bush's "dream candidate," the GOP could have easily saved $100 million if Dean had been the nominee. If sKerry hadn't made such a big deal about Vietnam and flip-flopped so much, the race would have been a whole lot closer. Dean is a leftist nutcase with absolutely none of the Klintoon's political savvy -- we couldn't hope for a better DNC chairman.
