Follow up on Christine Amanpour election story (vanity)

Early Sunday morning (2-3 AM eastern, I think) I saw a report on CNN from Ms Amanpour which surprised me, considering the source. She said a group of terrorists had stolen an ambulance and were using it to throw grenades at voters, whereupon the voters stormed the ambulance, captured the occupants and turned them over to Iraqi police. I heard nothing further about it. Did anyone else see this? Is it true, or was it retracted later?

Seems to me such a story would have legs, as they say (assuming it's true.) It's reminiscent of the passengers on the fourth plane on 9/11, and on the Richard Reid flight.

Out of respect to the Iraqi people, next election we should all ink our finger after voting. I'll be inking it red however. Let's let the Iraqi's connect with us on their nothing short of heroic election efforts.

This could be another case of one-report-at-2am-and then never again. Did you hear about it?

I think they run the "it doesn't match our agenda" outtakes from their correspondents around that time.

Don't want to confuse the sheeple during the day. But, they can still say "We reported on it!"

I was thinking this morning that it was too bad the ink that was used was blue. I also thought it should have been red.

I vaguely recall a story about two ambulances which had been stopped and were full of weapons. Was only half paying attention or half asleep? but thought they said that the terrorist had apparently planned to use them "possibly" you described.

There were a couple of stories about the good guys giving tips to the other good guys. LOL

I think the ink was purple - at least in some areas.

I agree, although they were gearing up for the "light turnout, lots of explosions" storyline in the early going. Things started to change about 12:30 AM eastern.
