Where did you get that figure please? Here in Moorpark, they start at $10, you can haggle if there are bunch of "illegals" standing around.

Minimum wage ... minus any type of tax appeals to illegal immigrants. The underground economy in this country is only now beginning to ramp up ... many people (Americans) not illegal ... clean homes, babysit, cut lawns, etc., etc., make decent salaries when they insist on cash payment. Average Americans wanting to save a few bucks accommodate them ...

I still waiting for an answer to that myself. Yes, California is higher. The healthcare,schooling,law enforcement and incarceration costs for illegals is staggering.
